this is sally hachet
I've definitely over-listened to this album.
My favorite song ... in the past few days.
and then this is just a great performance of my second favorite song on his album: Have I mentioned I have a thing for beards?

^^^^^
lately, i've been thinking a lot about ambition and restlessness. what pushes us to one day decide that the OJ we've had every morning just isn't what we like anymore and that we want something else, something new? is restlessness the defining characteristic of this generation? I look at my parents and grandparents and they seem so satisfied with what they have. that isn't to say they don't have ambitions, but their restlessness quotient just seems lower than my generation and those after me. Yes?
how we can be resting then suddenly feel dutiful and sprung into action, like someone has tapped us on the shoulder and we're instructed like ants to go out into the world and make something we can say is ours? where does that duty come from? and what happens when we don't act upon it? how many times in our lives will this sense of duty prod us? and if we don't listen, will there be another chance.
and what is truly ambition, instead of just restlessness?
i need help in answering these questions.
there has to be a philosopher out there that can assist me.
i will report back if i find one.

Be brave enough to live life creatively.
You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.
You can't get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you're doing.
What you'll discover will be wonderful.
What you'll discover will be yourself.

you and you
I got to see Youth Lagoon and Father John Misty tonight. It was a really great show and Father John Misty blew me away. He's a great performer and I must say that I think he's the sexiest male performer I have ever seen. This guy has moves. And moves that don't necessarily match his music. At times I laughed because he kind of danced like a lady and gestures oddly. I like it. I also can not stop listening to his album.

turning to a new life philosophy
I think I used to be busy. But I've decided (since my sprained ankle incident) that I'd strive to only do 1-2 things a day. Two things tops. And that could include socializing, shopping and making food and exercising for example. But beyond that, I'd chill. So far this experiment is working out well.
A colleague sent me this article and I think this perfectly summarizes what a lot of people in urban centres tend to do - get into the BUSY TRAP: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/30/the-busy-trap/

a sunday with sam beam
I'm suddenly into Iron and Wine. I recall last listening to them in high school maybe?
I thought I'd recycle back in time and listen to their albums again.
Sam Beam has a beautiful voice and on this rainy, grey Sunday it is fitting to listen to this quiet music.
